The Mackellar Electorate

About Mackellar

Named after the famous Australian poet and novelist Dorothea Mackellar (1885–1968), the Mackellar electorate covers 233 square kilometres on Sydney's Northern Beaches. The electorate was created in 1949 and contains the area bounded by Davidson and Forestville to Dee Why on the coast, up to Palm Beach. More heavily populated at the southern end of the electorate, the northern end contains the natural waterway of Pittwater and includes areas of Ku-Ring-Gai National Park and more sparsely populated areas through Cottage Point and Duffys Forest.
