Member for Mackellar Jason Falinski welcomes residents, businesses and community groups to have their say on ways to protect our marine environment, with the Northern Beaches included in a proposed new marine park off the Newcastle-Sydney-Wollongong coast.
The proposed marine park would include 25 sites from Newcastle to Wollongong and aim to enhance marine biodiversity.
“In the Northern Beaches we’re lucky to have some iconic landscapes and amazing wildlife in our own backyard, and we want to ensure this continues for years to come.
“The proposed marine park will protect a wide variety of marine habitats including Dee Why headland, Long Reef, Narrabeen headland, Mona Vale, Bungan headland and Barrenjoey headland,” Mr Falinski said.
Anyone can have their say on the proposed marine park by completing the online submission form available at https://www.marine.nsw.gov.au/key-initiatives/hawkesbury-shelf-marine-assessment
